Empower. Nurture. Transform |

Hola Familia! We are excited to announce many new beginnings during this spring season! Pablo Neruda said it best... “You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming.” In that same spirit Horizons continues to empower, nurture and transform the lives of youth and families of color in San Francisco. As we embrace this season of renewal and growth, we are thrilled to announce the opening of programs, share some positive youth experiences and welcome new staff. We can't wait to see you in April and continue growing together as one big Horizons Familia! |

Females Against Violence Our youth in the Females Against Violence program attended an educational event organized by the Teen Wellness Connection Team at UCSF for SFUSD's 9th-12th Grade Students on March 18th. The event aimed to reduce the stigma around mental health and provide knowledge, new skills, and resources while having fun. The event featured presentations from UCSF researchers, faculty, and local experts on teen mental health, along with a variety of exciting workshops such as Eating Disorders, Screens and Social Media, Reducing Stigma, and more. |

Jóvenes Education and Empowerment Program (JEEP) At Horizons, we believe in empowering our Jóvenes (Youth) to become leaders who not only embrace their own unique identities but also give back to their community. As Octavio Paz once said, "We need to give each other space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity." By providing opportunities for our youth to learn about volunteering and serving their community, we allow them to develop their strengths and share their ideas and values with others. Through this process, we can create a space where everyone has the chance to give and receive new ideas and perspective. We are excited to see our youth grow into productive members of the San Francisco comunidad (community). |
